Drowning
Passage 9
IPOH: Three boys, age 13, 14 and 15 were drowned in a mining pool yesterday afternoon. They were Yahya, Sazali and Tukimin.
The three boys went with their friend, Aziz to pool. Aziz warned his three friends not to go into go into the pool because they did not know how to swim. But Yahya was stubborn. He invited Sazali to swim. Together they jumped into the pool. Went they were in the water they were drowning. They shouted for help.
Tukimin and Aziz saw them drowning . They did not know what to do. Tukimin wanted to save his two friends. He forgot that he did know how to swim. He jumped into the water. As to seek help immediately.
Meanwhile, Sazali grabbed Tukimin at once. Together they sank into the water. Yahya too disappeared into the water.
When the villagers came hurriedly with Aziz, the three boys were nowhere to be seen.
Aziz wept bitterly for his lost friends.
The next day, the villagers fished out the three corpses.
