The blind can also play Ping-Pong. They play the game with the same equipment and these are Ping-Pong table, bat and net.
However, the edges of the ping pong table are enclosed by planks. The planks are nailed onto the edges. The net is tied across the table. It is tied higher so that the ping pong ball can roll under it.
The rules are different. Instead of hitting the ball rolls from the ball over the net, the player roll the ball under the net. The ball rolls from one end of the table to the other. A player loses a point if the ball goes out of the table touches the net. Of course, a player uses a bat to push the ball to go under the net.
How does the player know where the ball is? He depends on his hearing. He hears the direction of the ball in which it is rolling. Then with his bat, he pushes the ball under the net, to the other end of the table.
Rahman is a blind ping pong players. He said, “It is not easy for us to play the game. We need a lot of practice. Only those with very keen hearing can play the game will.”
He started playing ping pong when he was 20. He trained very hard before entering any tournament.
